Zope and Microsoft Word

I was in the Lab at noon. Until I met the pastor Jeong. I experimented some Visual Basics codes which open a new document and paste the translated text in it.

I read that Philip Greenspun's humor collection. PC/Windows seems not to work, and it does not work. UNIX seems not to work, but it works. This humor does not give me a laugh. Microsoft Word works and works very good. If you know some codes to automate you can deploy great features on the Word.

Zope would be a killer web infrastructure and Microsoft Office is a killer desktop application. Zope is for Internet and Word for desktop, both are killers. But their foundation is totally different, it means they do not compete.

I think I have to learn Zope 3 and Office scripts. Come on. I live in two different worlds.

Fighting a code battle with VB6.0 and Office XP

Our Machine Translation Engine is integrated in the Microsoft Word. But in Office 2003, it does not work. So I removed it, and installed Office XP a old version. At first it was same, really frustrating. I patched it with Service Pack 3, now it works. I don't know what is the difference. Anyhow I can prepare the demonstration at the end of year for the Assessment.

Cheol's Diary tested by Firefox

Cheol's Diary

Testing from firefox, new browser.

It's really boring.

I'm porting our MT system into Linux. But it's really hard work for me. Everyday I go to the bed with the head folded by my hands.

The trouble is due to the old c++ compiler of Microsoft Visual C++. GCC catched all the standardized features of C++, but Microsoft failed. They made a new language C#, and they seems not to devoted to C++.

Anyhow I have to keep my eyes on C++, STL, template, and the books on C++ and porting.

Found e-books on the libraries

Hanbat Library and Gasuwon Library provide e-books on their web sites.
I applied for subscription. They licensed rights or out sourced the
operation to eBook companies. Good pdf eBooks there are. I think in
the end the library has to evaluate books that the authors want
publish and buy them from the author for the public readers. And the
library could pay for the books to the authors directly.
It could make a digital archive of all books during this process.

Get rid of the cost of logistics and make the benefits go to the
readers and the authors. It will make the society go further into more
intellectual and creative socciety. It would make all us be a
information producer not the coarse hard worker. We all human and we
all can think and create.

Jasmine talks alots.

* Babbling has gone *
Thease days she is learning very rapidly. Yesterday, I gave her a pack of soy bean mil with a straw. After she dranked a half, I asked her how much milk was remained. She said a adjective "JJogkeum". A great step! She ask her mom to play with her ,even though her mom is spleepy, saying "Nolja".

Her language ability is ready to launch the sky rocket. Reading books and story telling would be very important a few months later. Let's get ready to get her attend Story Telling Classes or it's time to prepare for me and Rose to tell stories. Good parents are not born but made.

The catcher in the rye

He asked if he saw the lagoon who migrate in the winder. But but
the taxi driver said in the pond, fish lives. If you was a fish, the
nature mather would take care of you, Horwrits said.

Life is nothing to worry to fly away from the pond. You seems to live
there for your life time. When the winter comes, the mother nature
would care of you.

Wordnet Offset -> Wordnet Synset

Dictionary::getSynset(offset)
input : int offset
output : synset

Peter@Norvig.com

I read these pages, he is a good computer scientist, programmer, writer, father, director, etc.

But if you make me choose one, he is a lisp wizard.

http://aima.cs.berkeley.edu/ai.html
is really cool stuff for me. If you think to write a book, you should collect the pointers as much as Peter. Very impressive.

I was challenged to apply Google, a gang of computer scientists.

But my python and C++ STL codes are not done, terrible.
